Without Australia there would be no Buoyed Up. After the Sir Thomas Lipton Foundation was registered as a charity in 2010, Canberra Yacht Club was the first organisation to embrace the concept of supporting disadvantaged pre-teenage children through sailing and maritime skills. Our Australian partners also came up with the name of Buoyed Up to capture the essence of the programme’s impact on the children.
We are proud to continue supporting the delivery of Buoyed Up for the benefit of disadvantaged children in Canberra and we hope to be able to increase the number of our Australian partners in the years ahead.
